Validation phase
The validation phase of a Delivery project is critical in ensuring the product's quality and functionality before released to the customer or end-users. In this phase, it is essential to conduct thorough testing to identify any bugs or defects.
Functional validation testing
The Delivery Team performs testing to validate that the system meets the functional and non-functional requirements outlined in the SRS document. It involves testing the entire system to ensure that all components work correctly and that the system performs as expected. During this phase, the Delivery Team should perform both positive and negative testing to identify any defects or issues. Positive testing involves verifying that the system is behaving as expected when given valid input, while negative testing involves verifying that the system responds correctly to invalid input or unexpected scenarios.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is the process of verifying that the system meets the needs of the end users and that it meets the business requirements outlined in the project. This phase involves testing the system from the perspective of the end-users to ensure that it is easy to use and that it performs as expected in real-world scenarios. During UAT, it is essential for the customer and their stakeholders to thoroughly test and log defects to ensure that the system meets their requirements.
Bug Fixes: During testing, it is common to identify bugs or defects. It is important to create tasks to track these issues in Monday.com and prioritize them based on their severity and impact on the system’s functionality. The Delivery Team should work on fixing these bugs as soon as possible to avoid delaying the project timeline.
Customer sign-off
Before the system can move to the Completion Phase, it is essential to obtain customer sign-off on the testing and acceptance criteria. This sign-off indicates that the customer agrees that the system meets their requirements and that they are satisfied with the quality of the product. Obtaining customer sign-off is a crucial step in the process, as it ensures that the customer is happy with the final product and reduces the risk of future disputes or issues. Templates to facilitate sign-off are available in the Client > Project Management folder.
