Policy
1. Eligibility:
All full-time employees who have completed at least 12 months of continuous service with Kinetic Data are eligible for parental leave.
2. Paid Parental Leave:
Employees are entitled to 3 weeks of paid parental leave, which can be utilized for the birth or adoption of a child or placement of a foster child.
This paid leave can be taken in combination with the 5 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) provided, resulting in a total of 8 weeks of paid leave.
3. Unpaid Parental Leave:
In addition to paid parental leave, employees may take up to 12 weeks of unpaid parental leave within the first year following the birth or adoption of a child or placement of a foster child.
The unpaid leave is available for either parent and can be taken consecutively or intermittently, as needed.
4. Requesting Parental Leave:
Employees must provide at least 12 weeks advance notice to their immediate supervisor and the HR department regarding their intention to take parental leave. Exceptions will be made when necessary.
A written request outlining the expected start and end dates of the leave, as well as the intended use of paid time off and unpaid leave, must be submitted.
5. Job Security and Benefits:
Employees taking parental leave are guaranteed job protection, and they will be reinstated to their original position or a position of similar responsibility upon return.
During parental leave, health and other benefits will continue.
8. Documentation:
Employees may be required to provide documentation verifying the birth, adoption, or placement of a foster child.
