Paid Time Off Policy
Paid Time Off is a process to help ensure you develop a strong practice of self-care by managing your time around work, family, friends, and all the things that matter most to you.
Policy
1. PTO Award
Non-California Employees: Employees will receive an annual PTO award of 25 days on January 1st. This allocation will be prorated for employees during their first year of service.
California Employees: PTO will accrue throughout the year at a rate of 16.67 hours per pay period (equivalent to 25 days annually for full-time employees). This accrual satisfies and exceeds the California Paid Sick Leave (PSL) requirement of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
2. Usage
PTO can be used for vacation, wellness, or sick time.
PTO may be used in increments as small as 1 hour.
3. Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time
PTO will also cover the requirements of Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time.
4. Accrual and Proration
Non-California Employees: PTO will be prorated for employees who join the company mid-year.
California Employees: PTO accrues at a rate of 16.67 hours per pay period for full-time employees, beginning on the first day of employment.
5. Carryover and Expiry
Non-California Employees: PTO does not carry over from one year to the next.
California Employees: Accrued but unused PTO, up to 48 hours (or 6 days), will carry over to the next calendar year.
6. PTO Request Procedure
Employees are required to submit PTO requests in advance, except in cases of sudden illness or emergencies.
Requests should be submitted through iSolved, and approval is subject to manager discretion and workload considerations.
7. Paid Holidays
PTO does not include recognized company holidays. Holidays are observed separately and can be found in the Company Handbook.
8. Jury Duty
Jury duty leave is provided separately from the PTO award. Employees serving on jury duty will be granted leave with full pay, and the duration of this leave will not be deducted from their PTO allocation. Sufficient documentation will be required ahead of the service date.
9. Bereavement Leave
In the event of the loss of a loved one, employees are eligible for up to 5 additional days of bereavement leave. This leave will not be deducted from the annual PTO award.
10. PTO Payout
Non-California Employees: PTO will not be paid out upon departure from the company, whether voluntary or involuntary.
California Employees: Accrued but unused PTO is considered earned wages and will be paid out upon termination, resignation, or retirement, in compliance with California labor law.
11. Questions and Clarifications
Employees with questions or in need of clarification regarding this policy should contact the HR department.
